The style of training I offer is holistic, intentional, and grounded in functionality, with a strong focus on prioritizing individuality over aesthetics. It’s training rooted in practical movement, optimal mobility, and functional strength—not chasing superficial fitness trends. It’s about creating bodies that move well, not just look good. Although, let’s be clear: a harmonious, functional body does look good. It’s the natural by-product of strength and balance. It’s a no-brainer. Exercises like bodyweight training, hanging, and mobility work are central to my approach, emphasizing balance, coordination, and efficiency.
Wondering if you're fit enough to start? I meet you exactly where you are! Together, we’ll assess your current physical condition and map out a realistic plan: where you are now, where you want to go, and how you’d like to get there (yes, there are many routes to choose from). Whether it’s addressing muscle imbalances, improving posture, losing fat, increasing strength, or tackling other specific goals, I tailor programs to suit your unique needs—no one-size-fits-all templates here.
Worried about burnout? You don’t need to be—we’re staying far away from it. My sessions feel more like a collaboration than a rigid directive. You’ll leave each session feeling inspired and grounded—not exhausted or confused. The outdated concept of "no pain, no gain" doesn’t apply here. Yes, there will be discomfort—that’s growth—but it will never be debilitating or unjustified.
Training with me involves connecting with natural, primal, and intuitive movement. I prioritize the human experience of movement over hyper-technical performance, grounding everything in what feels authentic and meaningful. That said, biomechanics, anatomy, and science remain at the core of every exercise. I’ll happily explain as much (or as little) as you want—just let me know your preference, because I can dive deep into the data if that’s your thing!
I stay committed to ongoing education, always keeping up with the latest research and remaining open to science-based ideas to refine my approach. However, I strongly believe that the science of movement goes hand in hand with the art of listening to your body. It doesn’t matter if I’m teaching you how to hang upside down, animal crawls, or the most traditional exercises—I’ll cover every step so that it feels as natural as possible and in harmony with your mind and body.
Whether you’re a footballer looking to fix imbalances, someone aiming to achieve an ambitious movement goal, or a corporate executive needing to improve mobility and posture, I’ll design a program that pushes your limits while keeping your body safe and aligned. My sessions emphasize progress over perfection, encouraging clients to celebrate small wins and keep moving forward without judgment.
Does this mean I’m easy-going? Absolutely not. I’ll hold you accountable every step of the way. Will it feel daunting? No. This is about working smart and hard—not just hard. Ambition will not take a back seat—quite the contrary. We’ll set bold goals and work towards them.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Mindset and self-awareness are paramount to your fitness journey. By avoiding toxic fitness narratives, I’ll help you build confidence and a healthier relationship with movement. In the fitness industry, intense training is often mistaken for optimal training, but if uncontrolled, might lead to wear and tear and long-term consequences. You don’t need to destroy your joints, damage your ligaments, or endure days of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) to see results. Unless you’re training for something specific and time-sensitive, straining your body too often will inevitably take its toll—regardless of your age. I won’t push your body to the point of dysfunction just to achieve arbitrary goals.
I value enjoyment and nourishment, advocating for sustainable habits rather than restrictive diets or quick fixes. Food should be a source of energy and pleasure, not punishment or guilt. Training should ignite happy hormones and inner passions, creating a sense of excitement rather than obligation. Ultimately, my training is about freedom through movement, empowering you to build a strong, capable body that serves you in life—not just in the gym.
We’re living bodies, not sculptures. This is about achieving meaningful results—whether it’s building muscle, losing body fat, mastering advanced movements, or simply feeling at home in your body—without paying the price of unnecessary pain, misalignments, or long-term damage. It’s about reclaiming your body, reconnecting with your mind, and achieving goals with a foundation of health and vitality. And yes, as you grow stronger and more capable, you’ll also refine your appearance in ways that reflect your inner progress.
"Sessions with Vanessa are fun and feel fluid. We laugh, work hard, and I don’t even realize how intense the training was until two days later when the muscle soreness kicks in. It’s never overwhelming, though, and I recover quickly, something I’ve never experienced with any other PT before."

"Vanessa brings a lighthearted, grounded energy to every session, proving that fitness doesn’t have to feel like a chore. It feels like an exploration of what your body is capable of. I always look forward to my sessions. It feels like 'me time' in every possible way."
– Alex
"In less than a year, I went from not being able to dead hang for more than 10 seconds to doing hanging L-sit holds in the park during summer. At 41, I never thought it was possible. My back pain is gone, and my body has never looked this good!"
